Obama's gay marriage stance pulls Hollywood star power to 'blockbuster fundraiser'
President Barack Obama's opinion shift on gay marriage has le to a blockbuster fundraiser which will be held for Hollywood stars. It will be hosted by George Clooney on May 14 in New York.
Obama's changed stance on the 'same sex marriage' has recieved rave reviews from the entertainment world, predicting that his campaign for reelection may be successful afterall.
The fundraiser, which is expected to draw Hollywood's stars, is estimated to be the single most lucrative presidential campaign fundraiser yet.
Unofficial sources claim the evening could generate over 15 million pounds.
The neatly-timed announcement on gay marriage by Obama has given his candidacy a fresh steam in the entertainment world as he heads toward a face-off with presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney.
According to the Christian Science Monitor, the payoff has already begun, with iconic TV producer Norman Lear announcing that after withholding support for Obama's reelection, he and his wife will be shelling out40,000 dollars each for the night's festivities.
Gay music star Ricky Martin has said he will be present at the May 14 fundraiser.
"I believe Barack Obama has shown a deep conviction to help those most in need, even if their voices are not always the ones heard the loudest in Washington," he said. (ANI)
